What is it?
Every year, around your birthday, the Sun comes back exactly to the position it held at your birth. The chart cast for that precise instant is the solar return: it holds until your next birthday.
You read the Ascendant of the year, the houses the planets fall in, and how this sky touches your birth chart. The exact return can fall the day before or after your calendar birthday.
What it’s for
- See in advance which areas of your life will be in the spotlight
- Prepare your year and make your choices at the right time
- Compare two years with each other
- Cross-check with transits to pin down dates
